Update for 2024: Foreign hosting providers have refused to work with Russia. Technically, this means that they have refused to register a legal entity or rent computing resources on Russian territory. All websites hosted on the servers of providers that are not included in the registry may become INACCESSIBLE for Russian users.
Sanctions against Russia in 2022 put many people in front of the problem of choosing hosting for their projects. In 2023, financial monitoring was connected, which led to a sharp decrease in the number of hosting providers accepting payment from Russian bank cards and at the same time offering servers outside the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation.
Excluded hosting (data as of November 19, 2024), which are not suitable for citizens of the Russian Federation, for the following reasons:
- Roskomnadzor (RKN) has introduced the term “PRISEMNITION”! In human terms, Roskomnadzor wanted foreign Internet companies to open a branch, representative office or legal entity in Russia, place a user feedback form on their website, and register a personal account on Roskomnadzor’s website. Due to failure to comply with the law, Roskomnadzor blocked access to the sites of a number of hosting providers: Network Solutions, WPEngine, HostGator, Ionos, DreamHost, Bluehost, Kamatera, DigitalOcean (restricted since April 10), Hetzner, FastCornet, Amazon Web Service, GoDaddy.
- Refusal to serve Russians: GoDaddy, Namecheap, Hetzner, Hostinger, Hosting Ukraine, CityHost, Hostkoss, Fornex (Russian citizens can pay with cryptocurrency), Sectigo.
- Companies bankrupted by the Russian Federation due to sanctions and/or financial monitoring. I decided not to publish the list. But I recommend you to inquire about the financial situation of the hosting provider.

The population of Russia is 146 million, the highest population density in the federal cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
